About Heather

Heather Nuttall Westover is an award-winning author, speaker, author coach, and editor. Raised as a wheat farmer's daughter in South Dakota, her storytelling is infused with the charm and authenticity of small-town life. Now residing in Oklahoma, she has authored three books, including the memoir Growing Old: One Lucille Ball Moment at a Time, which debuted as a #1 New Release on Amazon. Beyond writing, Heather is dedicated to empowering aspiring authors through coaching and editing, guiding them to find and share their unique voices. Her passion for storytelling and commitment to nurturing new talent make her a respected figure in the literary community.

After attending a class at Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, the class decided to stick together when it was over. Meeting bi-weekly to read one another's current WIPs, offer creative advice, and encourage one another to reach the goal of publication.

Having been a member of OWFI since 2022, Westover is proud to have received the 2022 Non-fiction Book of the Year Award with Growing Old: One Lucille Ball Moment at a Time as well as Honorable Mention placements as well. You can find Heather participating in Networking Events, attending sessions, evening themed parties as well as Master Classes. The OWFI membership, and conference attendance has helped to further her knowledge as a writer, as well as create many professional relationships that have brought her to the next level in her writing career.

Was a member prior to serving on the board. During my time on the board, I mentored authors in the art of meeting the public, pitching their book to potential readers, and standing side-by-side with them to learn the art of hand-to-hand sales. I also hosted workshops & creating events where club authors could promote their books.

Georgetown University Creators Institute
Heather completed the intensive writing and publishing program through Georgetown University's Creator Institute, where she developed her manuscript from concept to publication under the guidance of industry professionals. The program, led by Professor Eric Koester, emphasizes storytelling craft, audience development, and author entrepreneurship—equipping writers with the tools to bring meaningful stories to life and launch them into the world.
